Poly Aluminium Chloride

Poly Aluminium Chloride is also widely known across the industry as PAC and is a pale yellowish liquid solution in appearance with a faint, slightly characteristic odor.

Poly Aluminium Chloride holds the formula {Aln(OH)mCl(3n-m)}x and is used mainly within the production of deodorants and antiperspirants, as a flocculent in water purification, in the treatment of drinking or potable water, wastewater treatment and paper sizing. Poly Aluminium Chloride is also a highly efficient coagulant with low generation of waste sludge in a wide pH range, even at low temperatures.

What is Poly Aluminium Chloride used for?

Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) has a variety of uses within varying industries. Here are some examples:

  • In the oil refining industry, for oil and water separation
  • Used extensively in the pulp and paper processing industry
  • Removal of water turbidity, colour, heavy metals and trace organic compounds

Why to use PAC rather than the Alum in Paper Sizing?

  • Less quantities usage due to higher charge given to PAC.
  • COBB adjustment is very easy.
  • Easy to handle due to liquid
  • Power and men power saving in production.
  • No sludge formation and its carried.
  • Safer to health.
  • Generate effluents is better.
  • Consistent quality.
  • Alum made from ore, which can contains many type of hazardous metals whereas ADT- PAC is safer.

Why to use PAC rather than the Alum in effluent treatment?

  • Purifies water and effluents is better.
  • Less quantities usage.
  • No sludge formation and it carried.
  • Safer to health.
  • Consistent quality.
